Niels Langeveld claims first 2023 pole in delayed Vallelunga qualifying

Points leader Niels Langeveld claimed his first TCR Italy pole position of 2023 in a qualifying session at Vallelunga which was delayed due to fog.

The MM Motorsport driver lapped the circuit in 1:39.388, beating fellow Honda driver Ruben Volt by 0.295 seconds.

Target Competition’s Marco Butti was third fastest, close to six tenths from pole behind the wheel of his Hyundai Elantra N TCR.

Aurelien Comte took his Cupra to fourth position, just 0.010 seconds slower than Butti.

Title contender Franco Girolami was fifth fastest ahead of Felice Jelmini and Rubén Fernández. Paolo Rocca of MM Motorsport rounded off the top eight, 1.1 seconds from pole.

The first race of the weekend starts at 14:30 CEST.
