Marco Butti penalised for contact with Niels Langeveld

Marco Butti was handed a five-second post-race penalty for contact with Niels Langeveld during the final TCR Italy race of the weekend at Vallelunga.

The penalty drops Hyundai driver Butti to fourth and elevates Honda driver Langeveld to third.

This means that Langeveld gets five further points to the drivers’ standings where he currently trails points leader Franco Girolami by 29 points in third place ahead of the Imola season finale.

Two further post-race penalties were handed out as Levente Losonczy was given five seconds for making contact with Paolo Rocca, dropping him from 12th to 16th place.

Piero Necchi was given a ten-second penalty for making contact with Nicola Guida, remaining in 21st position.
