BRC Racing Team joins TCR Italy grid with Gabriele Covini

BRC Racing Team will enter the 2024 TCR Italy championship season, fielding a Hyundai Elantra N TCR for Italian youngster Gabriele Covini.

“After my participation in the 2023 Italian Legend Cars championship, which in fact represents my first real racing experience, I am enthusiastic and excited for this new and important project,” said Covini.

“My main objective for this debut can only be that of acquiring knowledge and experience and I must say that the positive welcome in the team is the first step towards this result. After the first tests I am fully satisfied driving, in behavior on the track and in relationships with the team itself.”

BRC Racing Team is currently racing in the FIA TCR World Tour with three Hyundais and last raced in TCR Italy in 2018.

“Bringing new drivers into the TCR is a source of pride and demonstrates the constant interest in the category, which is particularly popular in Italy,” said team principal Gabriele Rizzo.

“We liked the possibility of giving this opportunity to a very young Italian, like Gabriele, from the beginning and we are happy to have been able to put it into practice. We have no pressure, the main objective is to maximize time on the track, preparing him in a competitive context like TCR Italy.”
