Norbert Michelisz leds red-flagged final Macau practice

Hyundai’s Norbert Michelisz was the fastest driver in the second free practice session at the Guia street circuit in Macau, host of the eighth and final round of the 2025 FIA TCR World Tour.

Michelisz set a best lap-time of 2:28.386, with Lynk & Co’s Yann Ehrlacher half-a-second behind.

Mikel Azcona (Hyundai), who topped FP1, finished third, seven-tenths behind his team-mate.

Néstor Girolami was fourth for Hyundai, one second off the pace, with Lynk & Co’s Santiago Urrutia right behind. His team-mates Ma Qing Hua and Thed Björk followed, with the Swede 1.3 seconds behind Michelisz.

GOAT Racing driver Esteban Guerrieri (Honda) had a complicated session, going straight at Lisboa in the initial stages to finish eighth, 1.8 seconds off the pace, with his team-mate Ignacio Montenegro right behind in ninth.

Lo Sze Ho (Hyundai) had again a good session, completing the top ten, 2.740 seconds off the pace.

Pepe Oriola had a difficult session, going straight at Lisboa and then touching the barriers with his mirror on the following lap, finishing the session in 14th place.

Josh Buchan (Hyundai) hit the barrier, causing a yellow flag with six minutes to go. The Australian driver managed to recover and return to the pits on his own power.

The session was then red-flagged with two minutes to go after Buchan’s HMO Customer Racing team-mate Ryan MacMillan hit the barrier and damaged his front left suspension, leaving his Hyundai stranded on the track.

The FIA TCR World Tour field will be back on track on Friday at 12:10 local time (07:10 CET) for the qualifying session.
