Yann Ehrlacher hit with grid penalty after engine change
Geely Cyan Racing’s Yann Ehrlacher has received a grid penalty for the second TCR World Tour race in Valencia after an engine change in his Geely Preface TCR.
The Frenchman had to retire on lap 16 in Saturday’s Race 1 with smoke coming out of his bonnet.
The team has performed an engine change in the car ahead of the two races on Sunday.
As the TCR World Tour is competing together with the TCR Spain in Valencia, the penalty is a 10-place grid drop for Race 2, so Ehrlacher will start from 19th on the grid.
The start of Race 2 is scheduled for 11:55 CEST.
