Jimmy Clairet and ALM Motorsport dominate second free practice

Jimmy Clairet was the fastest driver in Friday’s second free practice session at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia ahead of the second round of the TCR World Tour season.

Clairet was the only driver to break the 1:19 barrier to set a fastest lap time of 1:18.956, leading fellow ALM Motorsport drivers Sten-Dorian Piirimägi and Jenson Brickley, who were within three-tenths of the Frenchman as Honda locked-out the top three slots.

Santiago Urrutia was fourth, four-tenths off the pace, as the quickest of the Geely drivers, followed by Cupra’s Aurélien Comte, half-a-second behind Clairet,

Thed Björk finished in sixth position followed by Hyundai’s Mikel Azcona, with Yann Ehrlacher, Norbert Michelisz and Viktor Andersson completing the top ten.

Andersson had earlier been the pacesetter in the first practice session of the weekend.

Hyundai’s Gabriele Covini was unable to take place in the session due to a suspension issue.

The qualifying session for both the TCR World Tour and the TCR Spain is scheduled for Saturday morning at 10:45 CEST.
