Viktor Andersson tops first practice in Spain
Monlau Motorsport’s Viktor Andersson was the fastest driver in the first practice session in Valencia, as he topped the times ahead of the latest rounds of the TCR World Tour at the wheel of his Cupra Leon VZ TCR.
The Swedish driver set a best lap time of 1:19.170, three-tenths ahead of fellow Cupra driver Aurélien Comte in a session where the top eight drivers were covered by less than a second.
ALM Motorsport’s Jenson Brickley was third, half-a-second adrift, with fellow Honda driver Jimmy Clairet just two-thousandths further behind.
Yann Ehrlacher finished the session in fifth place, eight-tenths off the pace, followed by Mikel Azcona, with the Geely’s of Santiago Urrutia and Thed Björk following to round out the top eight.
Damiano Reduzzi took ninth position with Sten-Dorian Piirimagi completing the top ten.
The session was largely trouble-free, but conditioned by the high temperatures at the Valencia track.
The TCR field returns to the track at 17:00 for the second free practice session.
