Jenson Brickley optimistic despite penalty

ALM Motorsport’s Jenson Brickley qualified in eighth place for Saturday’s opening TCR World Tour race in Valencia, after receiving a penalty for a pit exit infringement.

“We are not sure what happened, so we will talk about the stewards later, but yes, I was P7 at the chequered flag, so we have to find out,” Brickley told TouringCarTimes.

The Briton crossed the white line on the pit exit, with his fastest lap time deleted as a penalty.

Still, the Honda driver believes he can aim to a good result in both Race 1 and 2.

“Getting through to Q2 was the main aim, so I think the Q1 was good,” he added. “Unfortunately, we had a misfire in Q2 that held us back, but I think we are in a good position now for both races.”
