Zhang and Chuang continues Lynk & Co domination in TCR China
Jason Zhang and Yan Chuang claimed another two victories for Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport during the TCR China round at Ordos, making it six consecutive wins so far for the team.
Zang headed a Lynk & Co top-four lockout in qualifying for the first race ahead of Zhu, Richard Li and Sunny Wong.
Wong took the lead at the start before Zhu and Zhang passed him on the opening lap.
Zhu controlled the race until a lap 11 safety car, with Zhang passing him shortly after the restart.
Zhang handed the lead back on the penultimate lap before another safety car brought the race to an early conclusion.
Zhu crossed the line first, but both he and Wong received five-second penalties for jump starts.
Zhang was promoted to victory ahead of Hyundai driver Yang Cheng and Honda driver Paul Poon Tak Chun.
Poon started the reversed-grid Race 2 from pole alongside Yan, but both stalled and triggered a multi-car accident and red flag.
Five cars were eliminated, including those of Poon and Race 1 winner Zhang.
Yan led the restart ahead of Yang and Wong, while Zhu worked his way into fourth.
A second safety car period followed on lap six, with Yan resisting an attack from Yang at the restart.
Zhu passed Wong before overtaking Yang on the penultimate lap to secure second.
Yan remained clear to claim victory on his return to the series, with Zhu coming home in second and Yang third.
Reigning champion Zhu has extended his championship lead to 920 points over Frederick Lee, with Wong a further ten points behind in third.
The next TCR China round takes place at Shanghai International Circuit on September 11-13.
