Supercars confirms 14 date calendar for 2027
Supercars has confirmed a 14 date schedule for the 2027 campaign, with the previously announced return of Phillip Island being the major change for the 30th anniversary season.
Phillip Island will host the second of the three events that make up the Finals Series as it takes the slot filled this year by Sandown, which will instead become the final event in the Sprint Cup.
The return of Phillip Island means Queensland Raceway drops off the calendar.
The Sprint Cup gets underway at Sydney Motorsport Park, followed by a trip to Symmons Plains Raceway – which moves forward to a new date in March.
After the traditional support races at the Australian Grand Prix, the series heads for New Zealand for back-to-back events at Ruapuna Raceway and Taupō International Motorsport Park before Hidden Valley Raceway plays host to the first night race in series history on the return to Australian soil.
After the trip to Townsville, Supercars pays a final visit to Wanneroo Raceway before the Sprint Cup winner is decided at Sandown.
The Enduro Cup takes in The Bend Motorsport Park in mid-September, followed by the Bathurst 1000 in October, with focus then turning to the three-round Supercars Finals – which kicks off with Surfers Paradise.
The second round of the Finals will take place at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, before the season draws to a close on the new-look Adelaide street circuit.
“The 2027 Championship calendar is one that we’re incredibly proud to deliver for our fans, teams, partners and stakeholders, as we prepare to celebrate Supercars’ 30th anniversary,” Supercars Executive Chairman and interim CEO Barclay Nettlefold said.
“The return of Phillip Island as part of the Finals will resonate with our most loyal fans, while new elements like night racing in Darwin and the revamped Adelaide street circuit continue driving the sport to new heights.
“Fans and drivers will return to venues they love, with race formats that deliver the spectacle and entertainment Supercars is known for. We believe this calendar strikes a strong balance between the number of events and the rhythm of the season.
“We would like to thank our race teams, venues, and government and strategic partners for their continued support in building a 2027 season that honours 30 years of Supercars while setting the stage for another unforgettable championship battle.”
