Toby Moody has been confirmed as the new lead commentator for the ITV Sport’s broadcasts of the 2012 British Touring Car Championship.
“The chance to commentate on a major sport with the BTCCâs following and for ITV Sport was too good to miss and Iâm over the moon to have been offered the job,” said Moody.
Moody replaces Ben Edwards who was the lead commentator for the BTCC for 10 years.
“I’ve got big boots to fill â Ben was a class act â but when the opportunity came up I had to go for it,” said Moody.
The 39-year-old, who previously has commentated MotoGP for Eurosport, is going to team up with Tim Harvey for the 2012 BTCC coverage.
“I’m also delighted to be working with Toby. He’s a motor racing fan through and through and will bring enthusiasm, professionalism and humour to the commentary box,” said Harvey.
