Dan Cammish hungry to claim first win of the season on Sunday
Dan Cammish has said he’s fully focused on maximising his pole position start in the British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park tomorrow.
The Alliance Racing driver started the afternoon’s Qualifying Race at the Cheshire circuit from second on the grid and shadowed Aron Taylor-Smith – who was hit with a five-second time penalty – all the way to the chequered flag.
“It’s nice to get that first win on the board and hopefully we can replicate it tomorrow,” said Cammish. “We’ve had a strong car all season but we’ve not been able to capitalise up until now. Thankfully today it all came together.
“I knew that Aron had the penalty so it was about managing things because I was in a bit of a boost sandwich. Aron in front of me and Josh behind had more than me so it was a challenge at times.
“Obviously I don’t have as much as some of those around me in race one so we will have to box clever. We’re starting in the best place though and I’ll be going all-out for the win.”
