Three drivers are going to sit out the British Touring Car Championship race at Knockhill this weekend: Rob Austin, Tony Gilham and Ollie Jackson.
“It’s no secret our budget is tight and, as much as I love Knockhill, I’ve had to let my head rule my heart on this one,” said Austin to btcc.net.
Gilham, who raced the Thorney Motorsport Vauxhall Insignia in the last race, will be present at Knockhill, but not as driver. Gilham will coach American racer Robb Holland in the Team HARD Honda Civic.
AmD Tuning driver Jackson sits out Knockhill in order to get back on track from a troublesome race weekend at Snetterton.
“We’re giving Knockhill a miss so we can go testing for a few days – Snetterton didn’t work out how we’d envisaged and we need to understand why before Rockingham,” said Team Manager Shaun Hollamby.
