Mark Winterbottom to race Peugeot in Brazil

Mark Winterbottom is going to switch Ford for Peugeot in a one-off appearance in the Brazilian V8 Stock Car series with Voxx Racing Team.
“The Voxx team emailed me and asked if I was interested and that was pretty cool,” said Winterbottom to v8supercars.com.

”It is one of the only series I would look at doing apart from NASCAR because they are very similar to our cars. It’s a pretty cool looking series. Unlike Courtney, Davison and guys like that I never raced overseas, so when you get the chance you have to take it.”

The Australian is going to drive together with Sergio Jimenez in the 50 minute long race which also features other international drivers such as Rubens Barrichello and Augusto Farfus.

“There are some big names doing it so it is pretty exciting … it will also be really interesting to work with another team. Both drivers qualify and there is also potential for the co-driver to finish the race, so I could be banging doorhandles with Dean going for the win. That would be great,” said Winterbottom.

The race takes place at Interlagos in Brazil on March 23.
