Adam Morgan heaps praise on team after Croft

Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan heaped praise on his team after Croft, after rewarding their swift damage repair work with two stirring drives through the field.

Morgan qualified the new A-Class in eighth on Saturday, and believed he could have been on the second row were it not for a red flag to recover an errant tyre stack.

He was eliminated in a first corner clash with Rob Austin in race one, but after his mechanics fixed damage to his suspension and bodywork, he drove from 29th to 12th in race two, and 12th to fifth in race three.

Speaking to TouringCarTimes, Morgan said: “The car felt really good all weekend. We should have been P3 in quali, but the red flag disrupted things. But to come from 29th to fifth is a remarkable achievement by the team.

“They have all done a great job, and the car has the pace to get to the front. We just need to do it consistently.

“We made a big development change to the front of the car [after Oulton], but it was mainly cooling. I think the car is suited to nearly all of the tracks, and it really likes it around here.

“I think with a bit more development work and testing, we could really be pushing forward.”

Addressing the work the team did to fix the car, Morgan added: “We pride ourselves on being really organised – my dad is Captain OCD! That’s the way we like to have it, so as soon as something happens we like to have everything ready.

“There have been some pretty robust moves from what I’ve seen, and it’s been a very chaotic weekend in terms of damage. But that’s touring cars, and that’s what draws the crowds in.”
