Sebastien Bourdais joins Walkinshaw Racing

Sebastien Bourdais will return to the V8 Supercars this season for the endurance races with Walkinshaw Racing.
“It’s great news – I’m really happy about it. Obviously I’ve been looking forward to coming to Bathurst for a few years after the fun experience with Jamie a few years back in Surfers, so really happy for it to happen now,” said Bourdais to v8supercars.com.au.

Bourdais, who has won the Champ Car World Series four times, is going to be co-driver to Lee Holdsworth at Bathurst, Gold Coast and Sandown.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in these cars. They are fun, they are challenging, and the series is super competitive, so it’s always cool to be in these circumstances… Adrian Burgess from Walkinshaw is a good friend and we’ve been in touch for a long time and also the guys at Triple Eight … this year with Charlie and Lee it’s going to happen and I couldn’t be any happier,” said Bourdais.

The Frenchman took part in the Gold Coast races from 2010 to 2012 as co-driver, starting with Dick Johnson Racing and Jonathon Webb and the two last years with Jamie Whincup at Triple Eight Race Engineering where he scored two first and second places.
