Point penalties for Michael Caruso and Scott Pye

Nissan Motorsport driver Michael Caruso and DJR Team Penske driver Scott Pye have been given point penalties for careless driving by the V8 Supercars stewards after incidents in the final race of the weekend at Barbagallo Raceway.

Caruso was given a 15 point reduction for his incident with Lee Holdsworth on lap 74 of 85 while battling for 12th position. This marks the second penalty for Caruso, having received one in the season opener in Adelaide.

Pye was given a 25 point reduction for his incident with Andre Heimgartner at the closing stages of the race. The incident saw both cars retiring from the race and the penalty drops Pye to last in the drivers’ championship.
