Shedden all the way

Scotland’s Gordon Shedden has won the first of today’s three Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship rounds at the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire.

Shedden, in his Team Halfords Honda, led all the way from pole position for his second win of the season. He also set the race’s fastest lap.

Second was his team Matt Neal, the reigning champion. The result has enabled Neal to extend his current championship lead as arch title rival Jason Plato retired his SEAT with a punctured tyre.

Taking third on the final lap from Vauxhall’s Tom Chilton to finish on the podium on his BTCC debut was SEAT’s Darren Turner who is standing in this weekend for the absent James Thompson.
