Turkington cruises to victory
Colin Turkington has won the third of today’s (Sunday) three Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship rounds at the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire.
Northern Irishman Turkington, in his Team RAC MG, led all the way and also set the race’s fastest lap time en route to his first victory of the season.
Second was points leader Matt Neal, in his Team Halfords Honda Integra, and third, having started from the back of the grid, a charging Jason Plato in his SEAT Leon.
The result means that Neal leaves Thruxton leading Turkington in the championship by 33 points. Plato, who retired from the day’s first two races, is third, 12 points behind Turkington.
