Giovanardi wants to stay for 2007

Fabrizio Giovanardi is looking to stay with Vauxhall in the British Touring Car Championship next year. Vauxhall will next year enter the series with a Super 2000 spec’ model, most likely to be the Vectra. Giovanardi is currently the best placed Vauxhall driver in BTCC.

“I now know the circuits and the team, so for me it would be good to come back next season and finish the job. Maybe if the season was starting now we could fight for the title, as we have a good understanding, but a year of experience will be very important,” Giovanardi said to Autosport.

Currently Giovanardi is sixth in the championhip, only one point behind James Thompson of fifth place.
