Giovanardi on top in first practice

Fabrizio Giovanardi took fastest time in today’s first free practice session at Silverstone. The Italian was just a fraction faster than Darren Turner, driving a Seat Leon. Giovanardi’s teammate Tom Chilton was third fastest.

Although not being more than three tenths of the fastest time, the championship contenders Neal and Plato were only eight and ninth respectively. The other contender, Colin Turkington, set the sixth fastest time.

Later this afternoon the second free practice and the qualifying will be held. Stay tuned!
