New Vauxhall Vectra unveiled

Vauxhall has today (Thursday) shown off for the first time its new Vectra race car that will contest this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. The Vectra Hatchback was revealed to the world’s motor sport media at the Autosport International show at Birmingham’s NEC.

Vauxhall confirmed last year that it would switch to the Vectra. The model came out on top against the manufacturer’s Astra and Corsa in a series of evaluation tests carried out when weighing up which car to go with as the BTCC moves to new FIA Super 2000 technical regulations for 2007.

The Luton marque has also already revealed that Italy’s Fabrizio Giovanardi – who last year achieved its 100th and 101st wins in the BTCC – and young Briton Tom Chilton will form its VX Racing driver line-up.
