First pic: Jackson unveils BMW

Mat Jackson today (Friday) unveiled the BMW with which he will enter this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship – and confirmed a media tie-up with leading men’s magazine Maxim for the season.

Jackson, last year’s SEAT Cupra champion, will race the same BMW 320si E90 that Andy Priaulx drove to last year’s World Touring car title. It will be entered by his family’s Jacksons Motorsport team.

The car was unveiled at Jackson’s sponsor Whale Tankers’ headquarters in Solihull – it will sport Maxim logos on his car in exchange for coverage in the magazine that each month sells close to 150,000 copies and attracts 887,000 unique visitors to its website. Maxim’s involvement with Jackson is separate to the role it plays as part BTCC media partner Dennis Publishing’s coverage of the championship that extends to the group’s flagship Auto Express and Evo titles.

Maxim editor Derek Harbinson said: ““Maxim is thrilled to support Mat Jackson and Jacksons Motorsport in the 2007 BTCC. We’re looking forward to seeing our man at the front of the pack – like Maxim, one step ahead of the competition.”
