Jackson tests his new BMW
BTCC newcomer Mat Jackson has wasted no time putting his new BMW through its considerable paces. The reigning SEAT Cupra Cup champion has acquired the Andy Priaulx World Touring Car Championship-winning 320is and yesterday (Thursday) he started his track preparations for the new season by running the car for the very first time at Oulton Park.
“The testing at Oulton Park was fine – more a shake down really as I only did 25 laps,” reported a delighted Jackson. “The car is spot on and we managed to do some quick set-up, but it was more to see if we put our money in the right car.
“It is a little bit different compared to last year’s Cupra Cup car, but I am pretty confident with the rear-wheel-drive as I already have some experience in that sort of car. You just need to adapt yourself but it does not worry me. I am planning to do some more testing before the beginning of the season so I can get ready, but I can’t wait for the season to begin.”
