Heynes appointed SEAT team manager

Jonathan Heynes has been named as SEAT Sport UK’s team manager for 2007.

Heynes is respected and well-known by many in the BTCC paddock, having run the team that won the now-defunct Production class in 2001 with its pair of Peugeots.

He has also worked successfully with SEAT driver Darren Turner before, enjoying six race victories with him in 2002’s oval circuit-based series ASCAR.

Heynes, aged 31, was also a British karting champion in 1995 before going into team management. In addition, he runs a performance sports car dealership in Bicester.

He said: “It’s great to be back in the BTCC with such an exciting new challenge. There is a great team spirit with SEAT Sport UK and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.”
