Oulton race 3: Jackson’s first win
Mat Jackson has won the third of today’s three Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship rounds at Oulton Park in Cheshire – it is the 26-year-old’s first victory in the series.
Jackson, driving his family-run Jacksons MSport BMW, took the lead at the start and was never headed. But he was under tremendous pressure throughout from SEAT’s Jason Plato who finished second. Third was Plato’s team-mate Darren Turner.
As a result, Plato is now tied for the championship lead with Vauxhall’s Fabrizio Giovanardi who crashed out of the race.
The BTCC’s next three rounds take place at Donington Park in Leicestershire on Sunday 15 July, the event marking the start to the second half of the 2007 season.
