Agreement between STCC and BTCC

The British Touring Car Championship and the Swedish Touring Car Championship are close to an agreement on national homologation. This would mean that locally homologated cars of the two championships, like the Audi A4 (STCC), Volvo S60 (STCC), Vauxhall Vectra (BTCC) and Honda Civic (BTCC) could be used in the two championships without any changes.

“Both championships provide national (local) homologation, for cars that have not been homologated through the FIA – and we want to ensure that our homologation processes are the same or very similar,” said BTCC administrator Alan Gow.

“So then cars homologated for the BTCC can be used in the STCC and vice versa, without teams having to make major changes to the specification of the car when they buy them,” Gow said.
