Tom Onslow-Cole third Vauxhall driver

Tom Onslow-Cole has been confirmed as the third driver at Vauxhall in the British Touring Car Championship 2008. The previous BMW-driver will join BTCC-champions Fabrizio Giovanardi and Matt Neal.
“I’m so excited about this deal. When you get a great opportunity like this you have to make the best of it,” said Onslow-Cole to Autosport.

The 22-year old Brit made his BTCC debut in 2007 after moving from Elf Renault Clio Cup. This is his first ever works-drive, something he is very excited over.

“This is a huge opportunity for me, and I’m looking forward to learning from all of the experience this team has.”

Team boss Mike Nicholson is pleased with his new driver and thinks that Tom’s previous experience with front-wheel-drive cars will help him.

“We’ve been talking to Tom since the middle of last season, and we’re delighted that he has decided to join us. Tom will start the season with an equal opportunity along with his teammates to go for the championship, and with his experience in front-wheel drive cars will really help him,” said Nicholson.
