BTC Racing back with the Lexus for 2008
BTC Racing has confirmed it will carry on with its Lexus IS200s for 2008’s HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship. The team has also announced it is in negotiations with a second driver to race alongside Stockton.
As predicted in TouringCarTimes recently as many as four Lexus should be lining-up on the grid for the start of the 2008 BTCC with the recent announcement of Xero Competition reappearing with the same manufacturer.
The Team at BTC Racing are hoping for a change in fortune after some recent tests with the car as the cars suffered numerous engine problems in 2007 with engine changes during the season going into double figures.
In a recent test at Snetterton the Lexus with a redeveloped engine ran for 60 trouble-free laps
In a short statement, team principal and driver Chris Stockton said: “We are really excited at being a part of the 2008 BTCC and the team is anticipating increased competitiveness in the forthcoming season.”
Chris Stockton had a frustrating season, only achieving two points finishes in 2007 starred in several other rounds, particularly when track conditions were wet and with the help of the reverse grid!
