Chilton aiming for title this year

For next year 22 year old Tom Chilton switched from VXR Racing to Team Dynamics. He’s taking the place of Matt Neal, who won the championship with the team in 2005 and 2006. This year will be the year of truth for Chilton, as expectations are high. At the Autosport International Show Chilton spoke about his first test with the team and about the goals for this year.

“I was blown away by how much feeling the car gives through the steering wheel. I really enjoyed driving it and I’m looking forward to the racing now”, Chilton said about his first drive in the Honda Civic at Donington last November.

Chilton realises the expectations for the 2008 season are high, despite the loss of the team’s leading driver to VXR. “I’ve got some big shoes to fill at Dynamics but I think it’s a good move for me. The team finished third and fourth in the driver’s championship without having done any winter testing.”

“By the end of the year they really had it nailed and the Honda was as quick as the Vauxhall. I can’t wait to get out and start testing again.”

“I believe we’re going to make a big push for the championship this year”, Chilton concluded.
