Allison to drive Lacetti at Robertshaw

In a surprise move, Matt Allison has signed to race a Chevrolet Lacetti for Robertshaw Racing in the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring car Championship.
Matt who was hotly tipped to stay at Motorbase Performance for the coming season has made the switch, staying with front-wheel-drive power.

“I am optimistic that the car can compete at the highest level in the BTCC. It is a proven race winner and with full customer backing from RML we should be very competitive,” Matt told TouringCarTimes.

I am looking forward to my first serious test, that will be at Rockingham for the media day on March 12”.

Matt will race the number 26 car alongside new team mate Harry Vaulkhard at Robertshaw Racing in 2008 both driving the Chevrolet Lacetti that won seven races in the 2007 World Touring Car Championship.
