Stephen Jelley might miss next BTCC round

Newcomer to the British Touring Car Championship Stephen Jelley might miss the next round of the championship at Rockingham. The 25-year old driver is driving for Team RAC in the BTCC, but also has a contract with ART Grand Prix to drive in the GP2 Asia Series. This contract with ART, that had been signed before Jelley signed with Team RAC, now causes a problem, because of a date clash.

The Rockingham races will be held on April 13th, the same day as the GP2 Asia Series will organise a race in Dubai. Eventhough Team RAC boss Dick Bennetts would like to have Stephen Jelley in the car at Rockingham, things still are uncurtain.

At the moment, Stephen Jelley has travelled to Bahrain to try to get to an agreement with the ART Grand Prix team. If things won’t work out between Jelley and ART, Team RAC has several drivers lined up to fill in his place.
