Gordon Shedden takes Rockingham win

Gordon Shedden took full advantage of his pole position at Rockingham today as he won the first race of three. The Team Halfords-driver led the entire race from lights to flag. As yesterday when he took pole, today he dedicated his win to David Leslie.
“My pole position yesterday was for David and this is also for him,” said Shedden to BTCC.net.

Second went to the diesel-powered Darren Turner who finished three seconds behind Shedden. Third went to Matt Neal in the Vauxhall Vectra, only half a second behind Turner.

Rain however made things difficult for Neal who slid off the track at the Deene hairpin and lost a place to the impressive Adam Jones. But Neal quickly fought back and was able to get past on the very last lap to secure the final podium place.

Jones finished fourth ahead of Fabrizio Giovanardi who fougth his way up to fifth after starting tenth.
