Still no show for Team48

It has been announced that Team48 are to delay their entry yet again into the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.
The team is still intending to enter the Championship with two former A-Tech Alfa Romeo 156s from last season for their drivers Jamaican Matthew Gore and former VW Cup racer Darrelle Wilson.

Team Director Luther Blissett told autosport.com: “Things had been looking quite positive, but we had our main sponsor decide to pull out, so we won’t be at Donington. It’s very disappointing, but I’m working hard to try and get something done so that we can get out and race as soon as possible.

“We have three races in May, Donington, Thruxton and Croft, and if we could get out for one of them then that would be brilliant. I’m very positive that we’ll definitely be out for the second half of the season though.”

Blissett set up the team this year with fellow former England footballers Les Ferdinand and John Barnes as well as motoring journalist Kevin Haggarthy.

News has been circulating that another potential buyer is looking at the Alfa’s from A-Tech. So whatever happens, it is possible that the Italian Marque will be back on the BTCC grid in 2008.
