Another fastest lap for Onslow-Cole

As in the first practise session, Tom Onslow-Cole was again the fastest man on track in the second practise session of today. The Vauxhall driver posted a time of 1:12.104, almost half a second faster than his time of this morning.

Jason Plato set the second fastest time of the session, but was 0.172s of Onlow-Cole’s pace. Plato’s team mate Darren Turner was third, three-and-a-half tenths behind the front runner.

Championship leader Fabrizio Giovanardi was 9th fastest, as second place man Mat Jackson only managed to be twelfth quickest.

In the second practise session there were problems for Michael Doyle, who only set two slow laps in his Honda Civic. John George spun into the gravel trap at Coppice with his Honda Integra, and Chris Stockton’s gear box problems were not over yet, as he had to pull his car off the track on it’s out lap.

The qualifying session for the third round of the BTCC at Donington Park will be held this afternoon at 17:00 CET.
