Turkington blitzes Croft first practice

Colin Turkington was fastest during the first practice session at Croft with almost half a second to his closest rival – Gordon Shedden. The diesel powered SEAT Léon TDi of Jason Plato was third fastest who was close to going off the track at the Sunny In-corner.

Fourth fastest was Vauxhall-driver Matt Neal who only just outpaced his team mate Tom Onslow-Cole. Adam Jones was sixth fastest in the privately owned SEAT Léon after sitting out half of the session due to an oil leak.

Reigning champion and championship leader Fabrizio Giovanardi was seventh fastest in his very heavy Vauxhall Vectra.

The Italian carries the maximum penalty weight of 45 kilos after his previous strong performance.
