SEAT Storm Snetterton on Day One Test
Jason Plato and Darren Turner have both beaten the official lap record at Snetterton to lead the first day of testing at the Norfolk circuit. SEAT has had a mixed start to the 2008 BTCC season with Plato currently 4th and Turner in 8th in the drivers championship. SEAT are aiming to turn their season around, and on today’s evidence they are certainly progressing.
Jason Plato recorded a time of 1:12.100 just beating Turner by a mere 0.038s. Giovannardi was third fastest of the day but was over half a second adrift. Tom Chilton came fourth fastest.
Rob Collard impressed on this warm day in Norfolk. He ran dead last in the morning, but not to be dismayed put in a lap that mattered to end day one of testing in 7th postition.
Harry Vaulkhard was equally as impressive in his Robertshaw Chevrolet posting an 8th quickest time beating some notable casualties in Matt Neal and Mat Jackson.
Both Matt Neal and Mat Jackson had set good times in the morning, both ending the morning session within the top 10. They both then set about improving their times, however others improved more and both did not make the top 10 at the end of the day.
Testing continues tomorrow as teams strive for the best set up when racing resumes at Snetterton on 13th July 2008.
