Jason Plato leads SEAT 1-2

Jason Plato has won race 1 at Snetterton after starting on pole and leading to the end, closely followed by team mate Darren Turner who finished just 0.583s behind. Tom Chilton made the final podium position but with a gap of 1.364s in a race where SEAT clearly have the pace above the other runners. The SEAT 1-2 is their first since switching to the SEAT Leon TDI in the BTCC.

Jason Plato moves up to third in the championship standings as a result of his race 1 win at Snetterton. Darren Turner also set a new lap record of 1m11.711s on his way to second place.

Tom Onslow-Cole was the highest placed Vauxhall, in only 6th position though he beat his team mate and current BTCC Champion Giovanardi by a fair margin. Giovanardi had a terrible start losing a number of places and never really catching back up. Matt Neal could only manage 10th position for Vauxhall.

The Motorbase team had a great race when Rob Collard having qualified 15th got up to 9th, finishing behind his team mate Steven Kane who held on to his 8th place.

Mat Jackson had a poor race finishing only 15th after battling with Neal early in the race. He went off track at the Esses two laps in row also damaging his car in a scuffle with Jones.

Alan Taylor was unlucky not to make the start of the race, whilst during the formation lap he lost a wheel.
