Plato: “We need to find sponsors”

Jason Plato surprised everyone when he together with the Chevrolet team RML announced the entry for the first BTCC race of 2009 only days before the start. Despite no testing at all ahead of the race Plato managed to secure one win and ended up on fourth place in the championship.
“I’ve got to give a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone at RML and to all my personal sponsors – without them this wouldn’t have been possible,” said Plato.

The first practice session at Brands was the first ever run for plato in the RML prepared Chevrolet Lacetti.

“We’re still paying the price for putting this deal together so late and thus missing all the pre-season testing but we’ve been changing the set-up on the car all weekend and finally made some big steps forward,” said Plato.

But despite the successful weekend the future is uncertain. To be able to continue, sponsors are needed.

“As to the future, we’d love to be back for more and there’s a massive desire to be in this fantastic championship. But, to make that happen, need to find commercial sponsors,” said Plato.
