Jackson joins Plato at Racing Silverline

Mat Jackson is going to race under the Racing Silverline banner during the British Touring Car Championship race at Donington Park this weekend, joining his team mate Jason Plato.
“It feels no different – I still have to beat the bugger!” said Jackson jokingly to BTCC.net.

“Seriously, it’s a great chance in what is still only my third season in the BTCC. Jason is one of the BTCC’s all-time great names.

I’d love to go on and emulate what he has achieved in the BTCC this past decade or so. He’s the perfect team-mate to have.”

Jackson believes that his chances are good for the race at Donington, a track that should suit the Chevolet Lacetti.

“OK, the car hasn’t raced at Donington but it’s going to be the same everywhere. I feel as though I’ll be starting on the front foot this time, though.

I don’t think the Chevrolet will be a million miles off at Donington – it’s certainly not going to be its weakest circuit.”
