Vaulkhard closes in on Jelley

Stephen Jelley was once again fastest at Donington as the second free practice session was over. But his opponents were much closer this time. Second placed man Harry Vaulkhard was only three thousands of a second behind the BMW man. Third fastest was James Thompson, only 0.041 seconds behind Jelley’s time.

Jason Plato once again out paced his team mate Mat Jackson.

Plato was fourth fastest, two tenths behind Jelley while Jackson was 16th and over one second slower than Jelley.

But Jackson was reportedly experimenting with different setups during the practice session which should mean that he has got more to come for the qualifying.

Fabrizio Giovanardi headed Matt Neal in fifth, 0.327 seconds and 0.341 seconds behind Jelley respectively.

Jonathan Adam once again was right ahead of BMW competitor Colin Turkington in seventh.

Andrew Jordan and Robert Collard rounded off top ten.
