First practies goes to Giovanardi

Reigning champion Fabrizio Giovanardi has set the fastest time in the first practise session at Oulton Park. During the thirteen laps he did on the track, he set a fastest time of 1:27.284. With that time he was two tenths faster than Jason Plato in his Chevrolet.

Giovanardi’s team mate Matt Neal was in third, half a second down on the Italian. Colin Turkington ended the session in fourth. James Thompson was fifth fastest, ahead of Adam Jones.

The Airwaves BMW’s ended the session in seventh and eight. Rob Collard was the fastest of the pair, 0.058s faster than Jonathan Adam.

Tom Chilton set his Ford Focus, that was changed drastically before last race, inside the top ten. He finished the session in tenth, just over a second down on Giovanardi.
