Thompson tops Rockingham test

James Thompson topped the British Touring Car Championship test at Rockingham. The Team Dynamics driver lapped the track in 1:25.410, a time that was only 0.020 seconds faster than Airwaves BMW driver Jonathan Adam.

Reigning champion Fabrizio Giovanardi was a further 0.011 seconds behind in third.

Fourth fastest was Team RAC driver Stephen Jelley ahead of Matt Neal. The times were really close as top five was covered within five hundredths of a second.

Jason Plato was sixth fastest in the Chevrolet Lacetti ahead of Rob Collard and Colin Turkington.

Andrew Jordan and David Pinkney rounded off top ten.
