Adam wants home win at Knockhill
Airwaves BMW driver Jonathan Adam is still searching for his first win. The young Scotsman is hoping to take it on home ground at Knockhill.
“I think I can knock on the door of the top five at all the remaining rounds but of course, if there’s anywhere I want to get my first win in the BTCC it’s going to be at Knockhill. That would just be so special,” said Adam to BTCC.net.
Adam actually crossed the line first at the premiere of the British Touring Car Championship this year but got penalized and lost his win.
While Adam homes that the home support is going to help him, he says that it is also going to add extra pressure.
“Obviously you want to put on a show for the crowds and I know the support will be terrific at Knockhill… …but that will bring an added pressure so I need to make sure it doesn’t take over,” said Adam.
The Airwaves BMW driver also hopes that his rear wheel drive BMW 320si is going to help him around the very twisty and bumpy Knockhill circuit.
“The BMW’s rear-wheel-drive should give us an advantage out of the slow corners, but the front-wheel-drive cars have the advantage of being able to ride the kerbs that bit better.
It’s going to be very close all weekend and qualifying well will be really important as it’s a narrow circuit and overtaking, while possible, is difficult,” said Adam.
