Onslow-Cole drafted back for Team Aon

Tom Onslow-Cole will make his second appearance this season for Team Aon in the Ford Focus ST this weekend at Silverstone. The second car has been absent since the mid-season break as the team have been working on improvements to make the car more competitive.

The team’s other ‘Tom’, Tom Chilton – scored points in all three rounds last time out at Knockhill – and the team will be hoping to challenge for more in what’s been a trying season for the former Honda works squad, as they’ve attempted to develop the Ford Focus as a designated constructor in the BTCC.

Tom Onslow-Cole, who drove for the VX Racing team last year, is relishing the chance to try the improvements to the Focus since the last time he raced at Croft.

“Last time at Croft it was all very last minute and that led to some mechanical problems with the car. But from what I’ve seen these last few rounds it has come on massively and the team tells me there’s been another step forward for Silverstone. It’s quite a different animal now.”

Onslow-Cole’s addition means that their should be 20 cars running this weekend at the Northamptonshire circuit.
