Mat Jackson secures Silverstone pole
Mat Jackson has taken pole position for Round 22 of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship from Airwaves BMW driver Rob Collard. James Nash qualifies an excellent third on his return after a one event absence.
Nash will line-up just behind Collard, with whom he had an altercation with in the last race at Snetterton which led to his disqualification.
Jason Plato, who remains with an outside shot of the title will start 4th in the other Chevrolet Lacetti.
Johnny Herbert’s debut race will see him start 17th, after an interrupted session. The Romford driver was only able to complete a limited number of laps due to problems experienced in qualifying.
Anthony Reid secures 10th place in his return to the field, and will line-up right behind Fabrizio Giovanardi who has put his VX Racing Vectra in 8th.
