Anthony Reid punished on return

New Team RAC racer Anthony Reid didn’t waste any time getting stuck into the action at Silverstone. After just three laps he’d earned himself a £250 fine and three points on his racing licence after heavy contact with Team Aon driver Tom Onslow-Cole.

Tom Onslow-Cole had stunned the paddock with fast times throughout Saturday practice, but after stuggling to repeat those times in qualifying, Onslow-Cole managed to catch up to Reid who had started 10th.

But wheel to wheel contact saw the Ford Focus ST thrown hard into the tyre barriers, almost turning over as Reid had to retire immediately with a puncture.

Team Aon managed to repair the car to get it out for the day’s last two races, but the strong field meant neither Onslow-Cole or Reid were able to get near the points all day..

Anthony Reid’s return so far is supposedly limited to just Silverstone. It remains to be seen if he’ll return for Rockingham in three weeks time.
