Collard wanted just one more lap

Rob Collard got right back in the thick of the action of the British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone. He switched his zero point weekend at Knockhill for 22 points last weekend. The Airwaves BMW driver felt that there actually could have been more with just one more lap.
“It was a great fight with Mat (Jackson) in the last race and if I’d had just one more lap I’m sure I would have had him as his tyres seemed to have given up on him,” said Collard.

Collard had a hard couple of races before Silverstone, giving only five points.

“I’m absolutely delighted for team to be able to bounce back like this after the run we’ve had,” said Collard.

While Collard was unable to get past Jackson in the final race, the 40 year old driver was pleased none the less.

“All credit to him though he hung on tight, and at the end of the day I was happy to pick up another trophy for the Airwaves BMW team after all the hard work the guys in the garage put in to get us back in contention,” said Collard.
