Bambo Engineering expands to two cars
Bambo Engineering have announced that they are going to expand to a two car team in the British Touring Car Championship 2010. The team has bought a second Chevrolet Lacetti from RML.
“We’re very excited to have secured this deal with RML,” said team boss Richard Coleman.
“At the moment the Lacetti is the car to have and I’m sure that will still be the case next year,” said Coleman.
Rumors have indicated that the other Chevrolet team in the BTCC, Racing Silverline, will switch to the new Chevrolet Cruze-model for next year.
“There is a very strong possibility that bamboo engineering will be the only team running the Lacettis next year, which we hope will put us in strong position in for next season,” said Coleman.
Current Bambo Engineering driver Harry Vaulkhard is going to continue driving for the team next year and the team is working on getting him a team mate.
“We’ll be working very hard now to secure a top line driver to race alongside Harry Vaulkhard who has already signed to race with us next year. We still consider Harry to be one of the best up-and-coming drivers in the championship and a strong team-mate alongside would help Harry’s development as a driver,” said Coleman.
Mark Busfield from RML is delighted over the news.
“This is great news for RML and the BTCC. bamboo has worked closely with us this year and it has been encouraging to see the pace of Harry at a number of events this year. The Lacetti has been recognised as the front running car at the last two events and going into 2010 it’s a package that’s ready to go and be very competitive,” said Busfield.
