Neal likely for Dynamics return

Matt Neal is most likely going to return to Team Dynamics for the British Touring Car Championship 2010. Neal joined the Vauxhall team for 2009, but as Vauxhall retires from the BTCC, Neal has been left looking for other drives.
“Matt is going to test with us at Snetterton on Wednesday and I see no reason why he shouldn’t come back,” said team boss Steve Neal to crash.net.

“He wants to come back and if he gets the car sorted out how he likes he. There are other Vauxhall drivers out of work as well though aren’t there,” said Neal.

The team boss also hints that the team could be set to expand to three cars next year.

“I’ve got half the pit-lane wants to drive! No-one wants to buy a car now, they just want to pay a lump sum and drive the car and I’ve had a lot of requests which we need to evaluate.

If we were to run more than two cars, I’d like to think we’d run a Honda team as the ‘professional’ team and a Dynamics team for the amateur drivers. I’m being careful there with referring to them as amateur drivers, but you know what I mean,” said Neal.

The team is also hoping to get stronger support from Honda next year.

“Discussions are always going on with Honda and they are showing a lot more interest. Twelve months ago at this meeting we had a hell of deal going with Honda and were going to have a whole package, but then Gordon [Brown – prime minister] screwed us all and we had the problem with Honda pulling the plug on F1 and laying off people at the factory in Swindon. They couldn’t been seen to be out of F1 and then spend millions on touring cars as it wasn’t on, so it all stopped.

“[Honda’s involvement] will be decided in the next ten days and that is what we are pitching for, we are pitching for Honda to be more involved,” said Neal.
